General Rate Increase March 15, 2012 on all imports from Asia/U.S. and Canada

Please be advised that the ocean carriers have announced a General Rate Increase (GRI) for all dry cargo originating from all Asia ports including Japan, North Asia and India Sub-Continent destined to all ports to the USA effective March 15, 2012. The increase was recommended by the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (TSA) as a response to steamship line ever declining revenues.
The GRI is applicable to standard containers, flat rack, opentop, tank, and all other types of special equipment (except reefers) at the following amounts:

LCL $4.00 w/m (minimum $4.00)

US $240.00 per 20' container

US $300.00 per 40' container

US $340.00 per 40' high-cube container

US $380.00 per 45' container

 

If there is a change or mitigation to the GRI by the carriers, we will keep you informed


General Rate increase – Asia to Europe & Mediterranean

All lines have announced General Rate Increases (GRI) and/or rate restoration charges from Asia to Europe and the Mediterranean. This is due to the decline in freight rates and increase in bunkers with the deterioration of operational conditions in Asia. The charges are various, but to give you an idea following are several:

LCL $4.00 w/m (minimum $4.00)

US $240.00 per 20' container

US $300.00 per 40' container

US $340.00 per 40' high-cube container

US $380.00 per 45' container

Please note – these increase affect all container types.


Trans-Atlantic Westbound & Eastbound GRI-Effective April 1, 2012.

Carriers will also be implementing a General Rate Increase (GRI) on Transatlantic trade routes, effective April 1, 2012. This GRI will apply to all cargo on westbound and eastbound services between Northern European ports and the USA and Canada. This will be effective for all container types.
